I was off roading in Colorado last weekend and received a ticket for not being on an established road. The officer told me the ticket would not show up on my record if I paid within ten days. No points were deducted from my license.

Will my insurance go up?
It was a park ranger. Does that change anything?

It depends. If you were driving in the state your license was issued, then yes your rates will go up and you will get points. It does sound like a fake cop!! If you were driving in another state then you will just have to pay the fine and your license or rates will not be affected. Out of state violations don’t even show up on your record. Hope this helps!!

what i mean i have a tacoma too and i have all these ideas for it and to make it in to a rock crawler and stuff like that

so my friend just asked me what about the silverado and i cant even think of the possibilitys for them so what can i do with it
is that it no mods just stock really?

Ya put junk in the back of it, and haul a lot of furniture when your friends all call to help them move!
I love my truck!

I need to know what the best axels and setup are for a r/c rock crawler. somebody told me midnight pumpkin are the best but i rather ask a group of people. I also need a DIY R/C guide on building a setup that will give enough flex to catch those low and high spots.

As far as I know, Midnight Pumpkin is a Tamiya kit. And while it might be good, it’s certainly not the best as they don’t come with bearings, only bushings which aren’t as reliable or as durable.
An Axial AX10 crawler would be my choice if I was going to get into Rockcrawling. You need axles that work at extreme angles, and normal dogbones or CV/UV joints aren’t really up to it.

So two of my friends are taking their 1997 Toyota 4Runner and 1998 Toyota Tacoma off-roading on some fire roads in northern Wisc. My Subaru is 4WD of course, and I’m sure my Impreza Outback Sport has enough clearance, but I don’t know if it’s safe for a car suspension to take that kind of abuse.

Thanks for any comments or suggestions!

I have — but it was a Forester :)

On the other hand, my dad had a WRX and took it off road although nothing too ridiculous.

Well, its been raining alot here latley, and i was off roading and my truck is huge, and its really high off the ground. So, im usually not very concerned about some water i go threw. I mean if it looks to deep i dont go threw it but today i went threw one and it was pretty deep. I made it threw pretty easily but my engine smoked some? when exactly is that an indication of?

Probably just steam, no worries. unless its still smoking.
Just water hitting the hot pipes.

You should always thoroughly check out your truck after off road adventures you never know what your truck might pick up or break on the trail. If you have big lugged tires check them for rocks or you could be throwing huge rocks at the vehicles behind you after you get back on the main roads.

My cousin just brought a brand new Chevy Tahoe and he wants to take through in the trails in the woods in my town. Is a Chevy Tahoe any good for off roading or do we have to get it lifted?

Depends on your off roading. Its not going to do anything hardcore but its more than capable of handling going down 2 tracks and stuff like that.

the shocks screwed up on my rock crawler and i need new ones. its the Nylint 1/6 scale version (orange and blue) and i have know idea where to get the right parts. i see the crawlers on alotta sites, but cant find the parts. if you would let me know where to get them, thatd be great. Thanks

go to your local hobby shop.
they can help you.
